The Best Way To End The Year .

If you have read any of my blogs, you would know that I love to fish . It really doesn't matter what time of the year it is, if there is water it will be fished .

Me and some buds from church started a new tradition last year. We decided to go fishing at the end of the year . In the wintertime I have decided that you don't catch more fish, but you do catch bigger fish . We left on the Monday before New Year's and fished until Tuesday evening at Laurel River Lake in London, Ky.
This was the fish I caught on Monday . It's a 15 inch,
2 and a half pound Spotted Bass or as we call them here in Ky, a Kentucky Bass .Now I know that doesn't sound huge, but when it comes to " Spots ", that's a big one . Their metabolism is slower than any other species of bass . This was the only fish caught on Monday on the account that we were only able to fish about 2 or 3 hours .

Tuesday was a great day for fishing . I caught this one about 10 am . This largemouth bass was 19 inches long and weighed 5 pounds . It is the biggest largemouth I've caught in probably 15 years . It was a beautiful fish .

Then 10 minutes later, I caught this Monster. The picture does not do this fish justice .It is a smallmouth that measured 20 inches and weighed 6 pounds . That is the biggest smallmouth I have ever caught .
Day wasn't over yet !!

I then caught this " smallie " at about 3 pm . It measured 20 inches and weighed in at 5 pounds and 2 ounces . Another great fish .

All in all, it was a great way to end the year that was 2008 !

Can't wait to see what 2009 holds for me .
Things that I am looking forward to this next year is the adoption for my 2 dear friends . Jeff and Holly Prosser are expecting their little girl from Ethiopia some time this year. Can't wait to meet her !
